Words and Wild Places
In 2013, poet and environmental writer Dr Paul Evans ran a Sacred Spaces project for Caring for God’s Acre in Shropshire. Paul organised a series of poetry and writing workshops with local communities in the Shropshire Hills, helping individuals to write about the very personal and spiritual experiences they had with places such as The Wrekin, Wenlock Edge and the River Clun. The result was a book Words and Wild Places, full of poetry about nature, place and a sense of belonging.
People Need Nature sees projects such as Words and Wild Places as a very valuable and important way to work with people and communities, to be inspired by the nature and special places around them.
